The AlterG® anti-gravity treadmill can reduce the strain of walking by up to 80 per cent. This not only ensures that therapy is safe, but also helps patients to regain a natural gait. It is ideal for patients with lower-limb pain, arthritis or weight problems, as well as for those trying to build up muscle after an operation or suffering from neurological problems.

Blood Flow Restriction Training (BRFT) is a training method in which the blood flow from the muscle is restricted slightly so that even a small amount of resistance can help to ensure highly effective muscle training. This method is particularly suitable for the rehabilitation of injuries to the arms or legs, when strength is still reduced. If there is a valid medical indication, BRFT can be used as a supplementary measure to training or sports physiotherapy.

Training on a Humac Norm machine helps to strengthen the knee flexor and knee extensor muscles. The advantage of this therapy over conventional strength training lies in the constant muscular resistance regardless of the angle. Strength values are recorded, and muscle imbalances are identified and reviewed over time. Targeted training following an anterior cruciate ligament replacement or in the event of tendon disorders are two examples of cases in which isokinetic training can be used.

In this active form of therapy, classic physiotherapy is combined with therapy based on the latest findings in the area of sports science. An improvement in a patient’s physical condition also leads to improvements in their metabolism, circulation, nervous system and breathing. After an introduction from an MTT therapist, you can continue the training on your own at any fitness center. Medical Training Therapy (MTT) is prescribed by a doctor and is paid for by basic health insurance.

Damage to the central nervous system, such as that caused by a stroke or multiple sclerosis, often results in motor, mental, linguistic or socio-emotional disorders. The Bobath concept is the world’s most commonly applied holistic concept for treating patients with these types of disorders. The approach involves processing the damaged structures of the central nervous system using specific influences and stimuli.

Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) is a functional physiotherapy treatment in which sequences of movement are coordinated and their effectiveness is improved. The ring method is a special water therapy with resistance exercises in warm thermal water that was developed at the Medical Health Center Bad Ragaz. The therapy helps improve mobility in patients with chronic joint problems and it aids rehabilitation. It is especially suitable for strengthening muscles, improving mobilisation, improving the coordination of the locomotor system and relieving pain.
