ISOKINETIC TEST
An isokinetic test can measure the torque at a joint and the strength of the muscles around the joint. Through the standardized test positions, the left and right sides can be compared objectively, for example, revealing possible muscle imbalances. These can be improved preventively or exercised specifically in the case of a past injury or as a result of degeneration. This isolated test can be used to check various joints, such as the knee, ankle, hip or shoulder. Using the various tests and training modes, it is possible to devise a specific and gentle workout program.
LACTATE THRESHOLD TEST
The lactate threshold test measures the lactate concentration in the blood, the heart rate and sense of exertion during a stress phase. These values can be used to determine the exact pulse range (intensity) within which a training should be completed.
LACTATE THRESHOLD TEST WITH CARDIOPULMONARY EXERCISE TESTING
Respiratory parameters are measured in addition to the values of the lactate threshold test.
MAGGLINGEN CORE STRENGTH TEST
The Magglingen core strength test is a three-part test of core strength endurance. Core strength is important in almost all sporting disciplines, and in preventing back pain and misloading.
EXPLOSIVE STRENGTH MEASUREMENT
The explosive strength of the lower extremities is measured by means of four different jumps (Quattro) on the strength measurement plate. Determining explosive strength is important in all sporting disciplines in which speed and jumping ability play a role.
Medical investigations and check-ups
Medical examinations
ANALYSIS OF STRESS LEVEL
Recovery capacity and sleep quality with heart rate variability meas-urement over 24 hours.
EXERTION ASTHMA TEST
A defined stress test on a treadmill or exercise bike is used to trig-ger an athlete’s breathing complaint. Following this provocation test, lung function is measured according to a standardised proto-col in order to identify any stress-induced constriction of the bron-chi.
PLETHYSMOGRAPHY
This examination is used in addition to the parameters measured in the lung function test (spirometry) to measure the volume of air that remains in the lungs following complete exhalation. Airway re-sistances are also determined, and measurements are carried out to evaluate the gas exchange in the lungs.
LUNG FUNCTION TEST (SPIROMETRY)
The spirometry is a basic test to evaluate lung function. A simple spirometry involves measuring the maximum number of litres of air that can be breathed out, and how many of this volume in the first second. The maximum breath flow on breathing in and out is also measured.
METHACHOLINE CHALLENGE TEST
The patient inhales a defined quantity of an irritant that will lead to the constriction of the bronchi in the event of their oversensitivity. The test is important when it comes to diagnosing and assessing the progress of bronchial asthma.
Medical check-ups
EXERCISE ECG
An exercise ECG involves recording electrical heart activity under increasing exertion on an exercise bike, with blood pressure also being measured at each exertion level. If training advice is also re-quired, this test protocol can also include lactate measurements.
BODY COMPOSITION (BODY FAT MEASUREMENT)
Body composition is an essential part of any good nutrition and health consultation. Weight itself is only half of the picture – what is important is to know the exact fat and muscle mass.
RUNNING AND GAIT ANALYSIS
These tests will make it possible to determine various causes of problems associated with overload. A change of shoe and/or use of optimal insoles can help to minimise these complaints.
RESTING ECG
Suction electrodes applied to the chest are used to record cardiac electrical activity. These curves can be used to identify heart dis-ease.
7-SITE SKINFOLD MEASUREMENT
A special calliper is used to measure the skinfold thickness at seven sites of the body. The proportion of body fat and muscle is calculat-ed on the basis of gender, age, weight and total skinfolds. This is an accurate and easily reproducible measurement in terms of fat and muscle mass, and is used primarily in elite sport.
